Weather / extreme events

Weather describes the short term variation (over hours, days, or weeks) in temperature, precipitation, wind, and clouds. A region’s climate is defined by its average weather (including its seasonal variation in temperature, precipitation, wind, and clouds) over long time periods of time (over decades, centuries, or millennia). Click the icons below to learn more about measurable changes related to weather and extreme events. Each page links to related topics that are on the UGC Infographic. Return to the Measurable Changes page to explore additional global changes.
